(Mugnier J-F Chambolle-Musigny Les Fuées) Not deeply coloured - a ruby core gently fading to brown. High red tones - slightly cooked - against a mild-toast background. Not fat, but splendid fruit which again is a little cooked with currants coming through. There's lovely length, I really like the depth and persistence of the fruit. The tannins are still quite astringent and are coupled with good acidity. Very, very good wine. Despite the relatively light colour, I'd personally leave this another 3+ years.

Some Burgundies at my place: Wonderful evolved Pinot nose, with some confit fruit and earth.
Palate is silky and elegant but then falls short at the finish. I liked the style and sonehow expected a bit more.

This wine is excellent. How I like Burgundy wines, there's nothing like it. This wine is top. I drank the wine three years ago, and it was too young, closed, bitter, ... And although 97 is not a top year in Burgundy, it shows that a decent Burgundy needs 12 years of age. What a pity this is my last bottle. I am sure it can last some more years, but it won't get better. Drink now!
