Opened on Burns' Night as possible match for haggis - and worked. Dark nose and first taste threatened with tannins, but soon softened. Well rounded with...yes, coffee/chocolate. Whisky-mix in haggis (wife got out Glenlivet!) not a problem. Am currently finishing the last in very small slurps. 75 minutes opened. Will give the remaining five bottles a bit longer (and maybe buy some 2011?).

The nose reveals dark berries, chocolate and coffee. On the palate it's smooth and generous, with a solid backbone. The finish has tones of spicy oak and mocha. Very nice and delicious with food. From now until 2018.

This is cool and elegant, especially considering the vintage.
