  Lively bouquet filled with salty licorice. The palate is vibrant and fresh, good fruit and mellowed tannins, consistently with the nose nice licorice bite complemented by black fruit, hints of cassis and clean earthiness. Fresh acidity. As good as the recently tasted 1998 but different profile, no plummy right bank flavors, this is more left bank, quite surprising actually. Excellent and drinking well now.

  Drinking pretty well. I’m a big fan of the right bank but not as familiar with this producer. From the IWFS Jax cellar. Some issues with the cork but mostly because using a regular wine opener rather than ah so it Durand. Some earthiness. Drinks niceky. Prob right in the right spot.
