Drank over past two evenings at home. Yellowish/gold color, generous nose of pineapple, some mango & some citrus. Fairly viscous with quite a round mouthfeel, yet medium bodied wine. Tart acidity balanced wonderfully with a complex mixture of tropical & citrus fruits, as well as toast, and a very distinctive chalkiness and minerality. So much happening in the glass here; very thought provoking. Great freshness, fantastic balance & complexity, and not overdone, overripe or overoaked as I've sometimes noticed from Auberts, particularly when opened too early. Excellent length too. This is a very serious wine that is absolutely fabulous today demonstrating quite a unique blend of acidity, minerality and fruit, and should drink well for at least the next few years. What a great glass of chardonnay! Super impressive!
Tasted at a friends wine dinner. Poured at 52 degrees. The initially muted nose blossomed as the wine approached room temp into a beautifully focused and intense offering with a midpalate of subtle honey, blood orange citrus notes, light oak spice shadings and a melange of other flavors that developed with each sip over the course of an hour. Generous, rich but without any sense of cloying or awkward fatness along with a wonderful fruit/acid balance. DELICIOUS and worth the price. Everyone got 1/7th of bottle. One of the most interesting and satisfying chards I've had in years. Thanks to Brad/Molly
