Noticeably darker on the nose compared to some of the other wines with baking spices, dark cherries, and berries. Medium acidity and quite big mouthfeel, followed by dark fruit, more spices, and tannic structure. This is a much bigger and riper wine compare to the other vintages and it may miss a bit of subtlety and elegance, but at the some time it's drinking well already.

March 2024 Gouges/Chevillon Dinner (YH Beijing - SF): A little tight on opening, it opens up a couple of hours of air in the decanter, but retains a dark fruited, brooding character. The tannins are not overwhelming, though still quite drying on the finish. A little dull compared to a '10 Pruliers I had next to it, but it does have greater depth and concentration with an impressive finish reminiscent of warm baking spices.

Very charming; shows lovely strawberry fruit that is definitely riper in profile than the other Gouges in the flight. Nice layered palate with notes of anise and wood spice, good acidity and chalky tannins that are much closer to the refined '12 but still slightly grainy. Despite really nice acidity, it doesn't quite have the tension that pulls the '10 and '12 together so nicely.

Dark red fruit, plums, stony. This is quite sophisticated for a 2009. Another perfect bottle, I opened it 3 hours before.

Dark red fruit, plums, cassis, soil and salinity. Dense and very long, just perfect.
