Like the 2011, this is a little light and thin, but basically complete and correct. Deep rich purple color. The nose isn't giving much, even with a heavy swirl. What comes forward is a plum skin, charcoal, and blackberry. Medium bodied. The fruit is just barely adequate, but does the job with smooth, but light, plum and blackberry. Pretty much in balance with acid, mild tannins, and light oak. The surprisingly long finish is more memorable than the nose or palate, suggesting I should have vintiri'd or decanted. The more I taste, the more I sense some manipulation, especially acid.

Decent easy-drinking merlot. Typical nose, subtle toasty oak in the mouth and a smooth finish.
