  • An old charmer. Fading in length, but still a real pleasure. The nose was classic Bordeaux, with soft aromas of loamy earth, cedar and cassis, with drifts of pencil lead and tobacco at the edges. The palate lacked a touch of depth, thinning a little towards the finish, but it still had a lovely charm about its plush, sweet cassis attack and slightly chewier midpalate, all still couched in a juicy acidity and nice velvety tannins as it glided away with little notes of cedar and a puff of tobacco smoke.
