Showing minimal bricking for its twelve years. Lively and fresh bouquet. Generous and structured, balanced, smooth, and quite long. Surprisingly elegant. 91-92.

Drank the last of my case. The wine is still drinking nicely...perhaps a bit more acidity than fruit but food cures that. Flavor profile is more Burgundy than Oregon. Wish I had purchased a case in every vintage!

Drank over two nights, with and without food. Dark ruby color. Slow-forming, viscous legs. Initial nose smells a bit like Syrah (which is to say there's a noticable ripeness on the nose). As it opens, there's oak, and orange zest. Initial palate is full-bodied. The ripeness on the nose carries over to the palate with rich, fleshy fruit. The only way to describe the mid palate is creamy, and I understand that doesn't make much sense, but it's the strongest sensation that comes to mind (and palate). Lush. Not much acidity, but nice tannins help give some definition to the fruit. There's some bitterness on the backpalate. The finish is a little hot, but the tannins help alleviate this condition some. Didn't seem any better with or without food.

It's a fairly bright and pretty red. Cherry, green, coffee. Soft and round, well balanced. Just not much in the way of aromatics. A little bitter in the finish.
