The previous note is right on point. Medium weight, raspberry driven with nuances of espresso, bittersweet chocolate, tar, clove, cured meat, and graphite. Almost St. Emilion-esque in its chocolatey qualities yet snapping back on the finish to true old-school Syrah. Remarkable purity--as complex as this is I could have polished the bottle in 45 minutes too. Just a joy to drink. Can't wait to see where this is in five and ten years. Plenty of depth lurking underneath.
New York Wine Experience Trip; 10/14/2014-10/21/2014 (New York City, NY): This medium ruby wine has a seductive, complex nose, with aromas which include raspberries, cocoa, tobacco, pink peppercorns and Asian spices. Medium-bodied, freshly acidic and with medium-weight, fine-grained tannins, it offers complex flavors similar to the nose. Like peeling an onion, the middle palate reveals sequential "layers" and leads to a long finish. Very impressive now, this wine has the stuffing to drink nicely for at least another decade. Drink now-2024.
don't know where to start with this amazing wine, beautiful ruby red color. perfectly balanced acid/tannins. its Powerful but still elegant. the nose is and explosion of redberries with hints of blackberry, pepper, tar violets and some tosted oak. the taste is just as amazing as the nose sweet redberries with streaks of dark fruit, pepper/herbs/bayleaf and some coffehints from the oak.
