January Vosne Village Level Tasting: Double decanted and drank over 3 hours. Classic Clavelier precision and purity in the wine style although far too young right now. It did not flesh out and show the weight. This had windows where it showed hints of what it will become but for now the nose is shut down almost completely. On the palate it was bright, pure and elegant. I am going to wait 5 years on the others, minimum. When this fleshes out it will be really lovely because it has great minerality and underlying structure.

Quite concentrated, not overripe, dark red fruit, spicy, salty, on day 2 improved, a wine not yet fully in its drinking window, but very nice. Sadly it was my last one.

It was restrained and elegant with plenty of floral spice and tart red fruits. There was some musky funk and a chalky mineral base. It doesn’t have the flesh that many ‘09’s show and was just a tad clipped on the finish.

Thin, unstructured, almost watery finish. Lack of minerality or character. Disappointing.

Good; not ready. I'd guess a few more years.
