  • I generally enjoy the wines from this producer, but primarily have had their Corton and Savigny stuff; this was nice if on the ripe end for a Cailleret; liqueur like red fruits with the occasional hint of raisin, but not much; floral, some mineral, but mostly ripe fruits with a bit of spice; the palate doesn't feel heavy, but you can sense the 09 vintage; overall very enjoyable if lacking just a touch of freshness and energy for my personal enjoyment

  • Medium dark red fruit. Earthy nose with some indication of age. Raspberry, violet, black cherry, some dark chocolate, and some barnyard; dry tannins. Agree that it has very ripe fruit for a Caillerets. Drink now - 2025.

  • Popped and poured; split 50% off into a 375ml bottle, refrigerated, and finished the following day. This is a light red wine with some very minor sediment toward the end of the bottle, but not enough to require decanting. The nose is very nice, with cherry, raspberry, gingerbread, and rosehips. The mouth is less exciting; it is clean but simple, largely displaying some light cherry and sap aspects. The finish is crisp and mouthwatering, highlighting some more light cherry. Overall, this was enjoyable but pretty straightforward. I found it hard to get excited about this wine. I liked a couple prior bottles more than this one. 89 points.

  • Popped and poured. This is a translucent red wine. On the nose, I get sweet cherries, mixed flowers, and potpourri. The mouth feel is crisp, with sensations of tart cherry and twig. The finish leaves some lingering acid and mild red fruit. Overall, this is a pure but somewhat nondescript wine. 90 points.

  • During a Burg dinner. I never had a Volany like this. Felt like a Corton on the palate with very precise yet tight structure, find but demanding tannins. The nose was timid. This needs bottle age. Palate 95, Nose 92.
