Awesome! Everything I want from this wine and really Burgundy. Maybe I should stop buying anything else. This is drinking well now but with a few years I think it will be spectacular. No loss of energy due to the warm vintage. IMO, maybe the best Chambolle made, non Amoureuses division.

Initially a bit tight. I am thinking to decant but the sommelier gently points out that he doesn’t decant red burgundy to keep the freshness. Since I also don’t decant red Burgundy in general, I go with his advice. With ten minutes of air, a hint of rose, ripe black fruit, blackberry, blackberry jelly, black cherry, sweet spices, a hint of leather and earth. Excellent concentration, concentrated ripe black fruit, warm and silky, good acidity, earthy mineral, nicely integrated tannins and a long sweet black fruit driven finish with sweet spices at the end. The primary fruit is no longer there and sous bois has not developed yet, i.e. slightly awkward stage. Although enjoyable, it will significantly improve in another five to ten years.

Just a delicious wine - graciousness and purity in a glass.

Decanted to serve. A bit polished but mid palate shows more stuffing compared to last time.

Candied, ripe and vanilla oak. However, it was a bit hollow in the mid palate.
