Garnet brick color. Perfumed nose of red fruit. Medium light body. Cranberry, raspberry, blueberry, with a touch of mushroom and earth. Mild tannins with a medium acidity. Nicely balanced and in its drinking window. Another 3 or 4 years, but not a long term ager.

Aging and a bit awkward, vegetal note strong, not as reduced and pretty as other Grivots, some weight and grip with lots of sour red cherry and its pit; was in Pommard and older.

Nose: Bruised strawberry, cherry, caramel, tobacco and earth notes. Definitely ripe, but not over done. Palate: Enters with bright red fruit, then showing some stinky earth and a touch of brown/roasted character. Moderate tanins at this stage with smoke, tobacco and spice notes in the mid-palate. Finish: interesting cross between ripe vosne and earthy NSG.
This took about an hour of slow ox to open up, but once it was there the nose and midpalate of this wine are great. I liked it quite a bit and agree with much of Englishman's Clarets assessment.

Decanted 60 minutes. Opened gradually into a lovely fragrant wine. Not likely to improve.
