Might be the most dense burgundy I have ever had. And locked and tied down. Had to leave it yesterday. Today much better. Extremely dark hue, dark cherries, very “Gevrey” in character. The style reminds me of Mortet. Quite juicy and very pleasing. Much more open now, although I will leave the last glass for tomorrow.

Quite reductive and extracted, framed by noticeable oak. Medicinal black cherry, camphor and animale. Prominwnt tannins. The underlying material seems formidable and pedigreed, but only time will tell. There is also a fair amount of sediment.

Tasted blind. The nose got better and better with air -- red fruit, cherries, underwood, and spices. Good structure with medium acidity and clearly ripe (although not overly so), yet complex and interesting palate with more of the cherry notes. Nice finish. Slightly awkward in the beginning, but really quite pretty and interesting with time in the glass. I'd wait 5 years to open this again. 93-94+

Excellent Christmas day Burg. Delicate but powerful on the mid palate, a really joyful expressive drop, spices
Lots of cherry, oak, typical powerful lingering spices, leather, but still quite a bit of fruit on this - needs time to unfurl strawberry, blackcurrant, snowflake like textured finish
Very good

Gouden Kalf @ Den Haag: Beautiful perfumed nose. Very seductive with asian spices, fine richness, generous fruit and a devine mouthfeel. Very Nice!
