  Deep dark big wine. The first hour the wine was very good but after that it changed significantly and became great. Blackberry, licorice, a hint of coffee and a whisper of tannin. This wine will age well another 10 years.

  Was curious to see how the screw-top closure might impact the wine at age 13. Opened and bottle decanted for two hours. Wine was fine but a bit muted. After another couple of hours, however, the wine really started to come into its own. Flavors got much deeper and fuller while maintaining excellent (or even improving) balance. My conclusion was that the screw-top really did keep everything pretty airtight, which means that decanting is essential for this wine to work well. But, with a proper decanting, this wine is really nice. I have one more bottle and will be curious to see what impact ... if any ... a few more years in the cellar may have. With the screw-top, might not make a bit of difference. We will see!

  Similar to last note. Wine is really delicious and easy to drink. Lots of fruit, but with good body and long tasty finish.

  Pnp. Rich dark fruit. Long. Very good. Perhaps my palate was off, or it needed more air but I didn't love it as much as I usually love these wines. Still very good but these are usually among my favorite wines. Still plenty of life left. Could continue to improve

  Dark purple/only color, big nose of dark fruit, spice and a hint of alcohol, the wine has loads of dark fruit, spice, tannins still evident but relatively smooth with a nice long finish. Drinking really nicely now with easily 5-7 years of life ahead of it.
