Not quite as good as other bottles I've had in the past, but still very nice. Dark purple in the glass, with aromas of red berries. No harshness and the alcohol was in balance, but a bit of sweetness (not in a bad way.) Plenty of raspberry and cherry and a nice finish.
Slow O'd for 2-3 hours and enjoyed over the following 2 hours. I think the best time was after 2 hours of slow O though. That was when the complexity described in Parker's note showed with notes of lead pencil shavings, BBQ smoke and dark berries. This wine had such a cool combo of lush mouth-feel and big tannin.
Later in the evening, the complexity faded to and the wine showed notes of licorice and dark berry liqueur.
Deep ruby. Very primary red and blue fruit with bright mineral and spice. Tannins are supple and this bad boy is long and sweet. Very densely packed juice that I think will reveal more with time. I hope I get a chance to enjoy it again.
