  • Slow O'd for 2-3 hours and enjoyed over the following 2 hours. I think the best time was after 2 hours of slow O though. That was when the complexity described in Parker's note showed with notes of lead pencil shavings, BBQ smoke and dark berries. This wine had such a cool combo of lush mouth-feel and big tannin.

Later in the evening, the complexity faded to and the wine showed notes of licorice and dark berry liqueur.

  • This is pretty dense at this point, with deep blackberry and plum notes. Not yet showing great delineation, and the tannins are just a tad too chewy for my taste. Hold, if possible.

  • Decanted 3 hours. Vibrant dark berry fruit. Fine tannins showing plenty of life yet. Wonderfully elongated finish. Excellent wine...looking forward to my other bottles.

  • Deep ruby. Very primary red and blue fruit with bright mineral and spice. Tannins are supple and this bad boy is long and sweet. Very densely packed juice that I think will reveal more with time. I hope I get a chance to enjoy it again.

  • Needed a 2h decant to wake up. This is an amazing wine. Loads and loads of dark fruit, licorice, black olives a hint of tar and spcies (lavendel and rosemary) in both mouth and nose. One of these wines where you can sit for a long time and just enjoy the smell. The high alcohol was not noticable and there was plenty of tannins although these were hidden behind the massive fruit. Yet the wine was very well balanced and elegant. A blockbuster performance. Has only begun its journey towards to sky (95+). Next try in 3-5 years.
