Slow oxed for 6-7 hours. No decant, right into my glass. extremely dense but a pretty nose of cherry cola syrup, pine nuts maybe figs?. Still a bit tight and acidic which initially hid the fruits. They emerge slowly to revael dark red fruits, tar, menthol and barnyard. Lisini is one of my favorites and I have many vintages sitting in my cellar, but not the '06 anata, which I bought at auction last years ago. Overall this was a bit disappointing for me as it never showed the profile that I'm so use to with their wines. Served with prime rib and lyonnaise potatoes. Should have been a lay up but just wasn't. I still have 1/2 case of the riserva that I've never touched and after this experience, I think I'll hold a few more years.

Big brunello. Fine tannins, lots of body, long finish. Overall wonderful wine.
