Similar notes to the '05 as this was reminiscent of the first time tasting cask strength bourbon. Little nose aside from oak and alcohol. Pure concord grape horsepower on the palate. Some minerality actually able to sneak in. Weird soapy / detergent note that may have been glassware although the '05 had it too and none of the others did.
Started off hot but opened up within the first hour becoming silky smooth and very fruit forward. It was a very nice typical big california cab. Probably too young to drink and has many more years ahead. May not ever find out since it was the only bottle I owned.
I hope this was a bad bottle because it was just awful. We couldn't even finish the bottle. A sommelier friend of mine smelled the next day and said it was maderized and undrinkable. Pretty saddening considering the price I paid for this. I am a huge Harlan fan and never tasted anything like this from them before.
