Pretty much everything I'd want from a Chambolle - Bertheau nails it again. At first it's all about incredibly fresh, sappy red fruited flavours tinged with bright floral notes, but with more air it turns more savoury and earthy. Remarkably graceful and finessed, with serious depth on the palate and a lightness of touch ot the flavours. Fantastic wine.
Floral nose, rose petal, violet, and spicy stem. Sweet and smooth on entry. Slightly dry mid-palate. Not very long with slight warmth at finish. Pretty good balance. Light on its feet but put on more weight after a couple of hours. This is about finesse rather than power, easy to like. 3rd bottle in 6 months, no sign of it shutting down. This maybe the vintage with very little dumb phase. 92 pts.
This is an explosive young wine right now. The nose is filled with cherry, raspberry, cranberry, violets, wet limestone, and some dusty hints. On the palate this is rich and mouth filling while at the same time remaining elegant and sleek. It finishes with ripe berries coating the back palate and leaves you waiting for another sip. I think this needs several more years to really show its best, but it is quite delicious right now.
