  I have struggled a bit on more recent SQNs which are slutty and can be fun but more often feel just a bit too much to me. These older ones though are really something and this was a special treat. Drank next to an '02 Grenache. Both great (I am probably moderatly more partial to the Grenache but this was lovely too). Still has lots of fruit but there is a balance to it that I quite like. Interesting wine with so many different layers. Very enjoyable. Even at the end of the night can still bring it back because it wants to stick with you a bit.

  Sine Qua Non vertical (Carlton Restaurant, Zurich): Some heat on the nose, a tad of sweet corn, which usually puts me off, but was OK here. Very floral rather light and a tad medicinal, not bad though but with the competition it was though.
  
  this was clearly a different animal as a GSM blend but I like the majority Grenache and majority Syrah offerings better
