Wine can be a strange beast at times... Tried this in its youth and loved it so much, I bought some more and tucked it away in the cellar - expecting this to need time and patience to mature and develop further. As per my last tasting note however, the fruit had gone leaving little of note behind. My third bottle, and a year post my last tasting, and low and behold, there is plenty of fruit left with nicely balanced tannins. Raspberries dominate. Overall, I would prefer this young and I don't believe it is really one for the cellar (unfortunately) but it will be interesting to see how my 4th and final bottle stacks up.

This is still a beast and it's hard to know if it's past it's best with little fruit left, or just needs even more time to settle down. I enjoyed this more in its youth than now but on the other hand this needs food and probably a long decant. Would like to try more of it on day 2. So day 2 and it had settled down considerably and was more pleasurable. Keep or decant for a good 2+ hours first

#BYOB - Funky nose with plenty of meat, sausage, herbs, violet and pepper. Sweet fruitiness, full bodied and long, long aftertaste. A somewhat dry finish saves the day!

Probably past its prime. Not very memorable. No formal notes, but not much left in it.
