Opened from a magnum. The nose had dark currants, red fruits, soil, and herbs. The palate displayed dried red fruits and tea flavor with softened tannins. It's a textbook Nebbiolo. It is drinking well now.
This is just the generic Barbaresco, but it shows very well- still some tannin, young fruit but showing developed complexity- tar, smoke, leather. Midbodied, rather elegant, this is much better than I would have expected. B+/A-
