Popped and poured. This is in surprisingly excellent shape after twelve years. Pretty nose of apples, hazelnut and a little brioche. This wine is medium bodied, lithe and airy, fully mature. The oak has been well integrated and this is a joy to drink in well preserved bottles.

Medium golden. The nose is a little clipped. While the palate shows good fruit concentration it isn’t that well integrated. Not sure if this bottle may have faced a little variation or is a little too far past prime. Either way drink up.

I have not had great success with this wine in the past but this bottle is really outstanding and still quite youthful. The colour is a light golden. Nice subtle nose of white grapes and minerals. The palate is more focused and precise than most California chardonnays of this vintage with white peach, dragonfruit and stones flavors. The structure is excellent with a nice finish. Can continue aging for a couple years at least.

In most of my tastings this wine has not aged quite as well as the Ulises Valdez. Full bodied and concentrated with flavors of peach, honeysuckle and minerals but lacking some integration and a bit of balance. May age a couple more years but unlikely to improve.

Color is yellow golden and the body held together nicely but something has tainted the nose and flavors with a dry musty flavors
