I blind-tasted this wine and was relatively impressed. A medium-bodied Cab with typical dark fruit flavors of blackberry and currant and a little spice, but it has a pleasantly interesting earthiness to it. It also has a fair amount of tannin that mellowed throughout the evening.

(Desert Wind Winery Cabernet Sauvignon Desert Wind Vineyard Wahluke Slope) Medium ruby. Distinctly Cabernet Sauvignon with herbal notes, cherry, and vanilla. The palate is dry and chalky, full of plush cherry flavors. 88% Cabernet Sauvignon, 9% Merlot, and 3% Barbera. Aged 12 months in American oak. 14.5% alcohol. 4,932 cases produced.
