I am going to stick my neck out a bit on this wine, but I was completely amazed by the elegance and quality level of this effort. The 2010 Denner Viognier offers up an abundance of varietal typical flowers dominated by lilacs as well as ice-cold minerals and a "profound-ish" balanced profile of exotic fruits. The palate has a striking integration and balance leaning towards the elegant side of a wine experience, but after about 30 min in the glass a beautiful acidity emerges. There is a perfect length on the finish. Taken together this wine adds to the quality level of Denner's portfolio. Thus, it is not possible for me to give a lower score than 94 tonight.
(Served in a flight with 2006 Kongsgaard Viorous, 2009 Domaine Giraud Les Gallimardes Blanc and 2010 Sine Qua Non The Monkey)

Falling off...past it's peak...held on to it too long. (Although still nice.) Sugary sweethearts on the nose. Taste: lemon and peach with a strong bite on finish. Golden yellow in color.

Lite yellow with medium viscosity in the glass. Stone fruit, citrus, melon pith, flowers, slate minerals, pepper and black tea on the nose. Medium body and ditto the nose on the palate. Focused fruit, decent structure and plenty of herbs. Heat is in check. Medium finish. Very well made, naunced and versatile.

Denner Viognier is always at the top of my list. Smooth, light, well-balanced, light fruits...perfect summer wine.
