WSET Intermediate Course, Session 3 Tastings (Washington Wine Academy, Arlington, VA): Appearance: clear, pale intensity, ruby. Nose: clean, light-medium intensity, red fruit (nondescript), oak (well-integrated), other: savory, animal component (beef or beef blood). Palate: dry, low acidity, full body (some heat from alcohol), medium tannin, red fruit, black pepper, short-medium finish (but primarily just alcohol). Conclusion: acceptable (simply died on the finish).
