shot. oxidized. going into the vinegar pot. Opened a 2008 Hanzell which is showing beautifully. Have a few more bottles. Hope this flawed bottle is a one-off. We'll see.

This is too ripe and oaky for my taste. But I do agree that its a relatively balanced chardonnay in the context of cali white. Given the acidity is not very high, this wine seems to be drinking at its peak. It is rich, big and oaky.

This is clearly a California chardonnay. Don't understand the comparison to "Burgundian Style". Way too much oak for a Chablis. Still a very nice wine though. Almost honey colored now as it ages. Honey notes on the palate too, along with tart apples and pears. For half the price I would drink this regularly, but the QPR is about as bad as it gets for an American chardonnay. Compare this QPR to Ramey or Cakebread or Patz & Hall or even Kistler, not to mention Fevre 2010 Les Clos at the same price.

Honeymoon Wine Tasting; 6/25/2012-7/3/2012 (California - Napa & Sonoma Counties): Tasted at Winery. Minimal notes. Only 10% malolactic, so a crisp, almost Burgundian style. The aromas confused me, but my wife loved their unique style. Seemed more focused and concentrated compared to the Salus.
