  • Agree with previous comments that this wine is probably past it's prime drinking window. Fairly weak and non-descript flavors on the brief finish. A pedestrian effort that wasn't "bad" overall - but not memorable, either.

  • I'm not sure about this wine. Could go either way; almost 90 points and a bargain, or not even 84 and wasted my money. Starting out, this could be, and probably is, the darkest colored wine I have tasted in 2012. I don't have a decanter, or a vinturi at this evening's location, so I am swirling and swirling. When you pop the cork, and pour in the glass, there is a dill, basil, and earth aroma as strong as I have ever smelled. The first taste almost says "is this wine?" The swirling answers the question with a yes but with reservations. The nose keeps saying tree bark. I'm looking for some fruit, and think it is lurking out there somewhere. Whenever I get to a cross road like this tasting a wine, I always go eat a piece of cheese, and neutralize my palate. The cheese almost worked; it didn't open the fruit, but exposed the double super heavy oak. More swirling, and swishing around in the mouth brings some blackberry, vanilla, and some serious tannins. This wine could easily age for 10 more years, is practically undrinkable now, but I'm sure some would really like it. Going to grill a steak, and try that. So after an hour of more air, and the fatty structure of a steak and baked potato, we finally get come black cherry and black currant. I think some one would be well rewarded to buy a few bottles and forget he had them for 20 years. I'll bet those secondary and tertiary flavors would be awesome.

  • An acceptable and enjoyable wine, at its price point....It won't disappoint!

  • Opened for 45 minutes. Really enjoyed this full bodied wine with a fresh finish. Hints of Blackberry, Plums and Vanilla, Started to open up alittle more after about an 1.5 hours. Lingering pleasant finish with mild tannins. I think this wine will improve some in a year or two but enjoyable now.

  • I think this has passed its window for drinking. Open soon and be ready to cook with it.
