Burgundy Tasting (Restaurant Brunnenstube, Beinstein): Glass: Schott Zwiesel Burgundy / Riedel Vinum Burgundy Bottle opened before tasting, no decant. Pale golden yellow color. At first some strange, lactic (cheese?) notes in the nose that went away over time with air. Gains complexity and develops beautifully: burnt nuts, some mineral notes, few fine oak. Dry, medium acidity and tannin. Wonderful mineral notes, elegant and never fat. Lacks a bit pressure on the mid palate but the finish is very long with nuts and fine mushrooms. Still very young. Keep it for a few more years or give it a decent decant. 91-92

United Cellars Grand Burgundy Tasting 2013 (Royal Automobile Club, Macquarie Street, Sydney): Medium minus aromas of stone and mineral over citrus fruit that is also quite perfumed with spicy undertones. On the palate the wine is quite austere and closed. Having said that there is a veiled core of linear fruit and mineral running through this. Hmm.
