13.1% alc. Bottle was in very good condition. Mid shoulder. Top of the cork had healthy thin layer of mold showing healthy humidity during storage. Cork was pulled using a combination of cork screw and ah-so. Cork was completely soaked through and came out whole. I decided to pop and pour. Color: wine was burgundy color at its core with light brown, orange and pale rim. Aromas: smells wonderful at 55 years old. I was expecting heavy funk but it wasnt so. Initial smell had a mix of elegant red fruit with slight medicinal scent. Smell of sous bois could be detected ever so faintly in the background. Taste: no tannin feel, silky smooth wine. Red fruit that slowly came out to the front as time passed. Medium body. There was acid at the end of the taste. If blinded people would have thought 1990-2000 vintage just by the taste alone. Has few more years left until it drops off. I am happy to have had a very healthy bottle that showed well.

Fabulous bottle. One of the best Bordeaux I have ever had. Plenty of fruit, little tannin. Just what you would expect from a 53 year old wine that really should be a first growth. If you have one well cellared, drink it now.

Drank at 55th bday party. Pretty amazing. 10XM’s note is excellent. I’d say this is on a plateau and isn’t getting any better though.

Although over its top, still very smooth after the first minutes, even after 53 years!
