Notes after four hours in decanter at 48deg. Medium straw yellow color, very slow legs, average shimmer. Profound lemon drop followed by lighter marshmallow, buttered popcorn, warm stickybun and angel food cake on the nose. A very brief pepper and herb note start the attack on the palate but quickly give way to all the malo textures, blanketing the tongue with citrus and nectarine fruit pie and ice cream before heading into a smooth oaky-macadamia finish. A leaner body in terms of viscosity than I expected, but really big on the flavor that gets a nice lift by the abundant acidity. 4+12+18+8 = 92
Slow-O 1 hr, served non-blind. Be sure to keep this cool lest the heat creeps up on you. Full shouldered, with spicy orchard and tropical fruits, loads of minerals tossed in for good measure. Approaches full body before the plentiful acids reel it back in. Excellent example of robust CA Chard, if you're so inclined. 4-5 very good years still ahead of it. 14,1% abv
