Took out to dinner so no formal notes. Excellent again and still going strong with enough bones to go another few years. A little more weight than a year ago and very smooth and persistent. Profound bouquet and the ultimate pairing for crustaceans and butter. Fans of steel fermentation should probably avoid this bad boy
Notes after four hours in decanter at 48deg. Medium straw yellow color, very slow legs, average shimmer. Profound lemon drop followed by lighter marshmallow, buttered popcorn, warm stickybun and angel food cake on the nose. A very brief pepper and herb note start the attack on the palate but quickly give way to all the malo textures, blanketing the tongue with citrus and nectarine fruit pie and ice cream before heading into a smooth oaky-macadamia finish. A leaner body in terms of viscosity than I expected, but really big on the flavor that gets a nice lift by the abundant acidity. 4+12+18+8 = 92
