This is just ridiculously good for an £11 ten years old white wine. OK, it's Oz Riesling under screwcap but... Light gold, touch of green. Light Spring flowers, grapefruit and lime. Great acidity. Just balanced by the very light chalkiness and fruit. Good length. Clean as fresh water too. Great summer wine. A reasonable 12.5% and full of bright energy still.

A really superb dry Riesling, taut and austere at first sip but quickly fruity & exuberant as the grapefruit and lemon peel flavors kick in. Upon closer inspection, and especially on the long finish, a flinty mine reality predominates. Complex and intriguing, an absolute steal at at $12 or so. I have no idea how it will age-- it certainly has the acidity and structure to transform ion something even more interesting !

Blind tasted. Nose showed lemon peel, mango, nuttiness, sour citrus, dried pineapple, white mushroom, slate. Palate med-plus acid, med-minus alcohol, medium finish. Most of us guessed Riesling, though we were split between New World and Old World. There was a plastic quality that I thought was Mosel petrol, but others said was an Australian marker. Good wine, developing well.
