  • Decanted and aired one hour. Clearly matured nose with some funk, pepper and dark fruit. Medium bodied palate, delivering vibrant acidity and firm tannins with liquorice, medicinal/drugstore notes and some dark fruit. Still alive and kicking with a nicely matured aspect. Overall slightly unbalanced though due to the relatively strong medicinal flavor but otherwise a decent developed syrah.
2:nd day notes: Wow, smooth, aromatic, nicely matured and balanced. Showing really great after one night in the fridge.

  • Bright acidity. Unmistakably syrah fruit. Lots of olives. Hint of smokiness. Very food friendly. I suspect this will be fine for several more years.

  • Still love this wine and have one bottle left. Classic northern Rhone profile with minerally dark fruits, like they came out of a briar patch... some nice funk on the nose as well. Medium bodied on the palate with plenty of acidity and dark fruits. Just a touch off balance to get to a 90. Nice finish.

  • I'm a bit surprised that JLL has this down as a modern wine. To me, very traditional Northern Rhone Syrah. Cool black fruit, smoke, black olives and tar. Not a heavyweight by any means, but here is plenty of character and plenty to like. I'm quite pleased that this wine has held up so well.
