Popped and poured. Forward and mature red and black cherry aromas with a slight gamy character. Similar flavor profile, perhaps slightly more black fruit driven with good minerality and textures. Also reasonably mature flavors, but this has good enough acidity for the 2000 vintage so should most likely hold well for at least a few more years. Best 30-60 minutes after opened, started to fade after open 2+ hours.

(Domaine de la Vougeraie Gevrey-Chambertin Les Evocelles) Light medium red; really lovely caramel, strawberry and rose nose; tight, sous bois, strawberry palate; short-medium finish (vines nearly 40 years old; 30% new oak)
(Domaine de la Vougeraie Gevrey-Chambertin "Les Evocelles") Expressive nose of violets, spice. Intense, deep and powerful with an old-viney character to it. Gamey on the finish with lots of black fruit. Intense wine.
