after thoroughly enjoying a couple bottles of the 2007 cerise in recent years, finally circled back to finish off the '09. an extra three years actually did wonders for the remaining bottle.
drinks much more like a gamay now, with hints of a pinot backbone. crisp and zippy and bright. a wisp of smoke at the end. nice.

an interesting experiment, and still drinkable even though it wasn't intended to be a long-aged bottle. it's a bit like a lighter-style pinot, and there's still a little bit of strawberry/cherry to it. no idea how to score it based on 1) drinking it way after its ideal range and 2) not being familiar with the blend/style

Visits to Cristom, St. Innocent, Johan, Argyle, Dobbes, Chehalem: Quite pleasing aromas, with a spicy green pepper as the prominent aroma. Quite fruit forward and pretty well balanced. Soft finish, though there is some astringency. Pretty decent.

I liked it. It got better after it opened up a bit towards the end of the bottle.
