A decent wine, but not enough fruit for my palate. Dark plum in color. Earth, tobacco and forest floor on the nose. Earth, minerals and forest floor on the palate. A touch of blackberry. A lot smoother than last time tried. A nice wine for the vintage, although not very Margaux like. No tannin and should last a while.
Very garnet in appearance, this wine smells of tobacco, forest floor, cedar, dried fruit, nutmeg and something savoury (black olives or mushrooms). The acidity is high, with med+ tannins that have softened with age. The finish is endless, with lots of vanilla, coffee, dark chocolate and licorice.
Last bottle...PNP one night with cod and then drunk 2 different nights over the following 4 nights and very nice on all occasions.....mature but not old and hardly falling apart....good classic Bdx and quite a bargain in the day for $27...pretty wine
