Seems fine still. Though not that familiar with Pignolo. Still some fruit, smooth tannins. Definitely best with the meal than on its own. Lasted fine for a couple days for last two glasses.

Steely, earthy, lots of iron and dirt with still ample tannin and acid. I’d drink while there’s still some fruit left. Pignolo…worth the try. A lot like a youngish aglianico. Dried on racks for two months, vinified and spending 3 years in oak, this gets the Amarone treatment. It shows. Native Pignolo grape.

Night one this was tight with tannins and muted chocolate and cherry fruit. A little better night two with more open dark fruit but still a ton of drying tannin. Drink next year or two. Fruit seems to be waning

Russk. Andrea brought to CDC at Mustang. Blind I knew it was a tannic grape but Pignolo did not occur to me. Still has time on it. A WOTN for several of us.
