Definitely at the end of its life. Still some cherry, but a lot of stewed prunes. Surprisingly still drinkable. A little high on the alcohol which took a couple of hours to get under control. Much better than expected from a wine this old and inexpensive.

Wow was worried about having this too long but what a wonderful keep. Big with deep cherry notes and strong tanins. Was so surprised but what a great thanksgiving vino
A very old bottle at this point, by all accounts several years past its prime. The color was deep purple with the beginnings of a fade towards brown. At first an earthiness and raisin quality on the nose. As it aired a bit I was afraid it would oxidize more but actually some more deep black fruit aromas appeared, blackberry compote perhaps. Mid-palate there was still a bit of black fruit, sage, leather and tobacco. Acidity had waned by this point and the flavors didn't hold up long. Tannins were still present on the finish, giving it some bite at the end. I would have enjoyed tasting this in its prime, but it was still a nice experience for something that easily could have been too far gone. Drink 2005-2009.

This wine is past it's time... however it was still able to open up a bit after decanting for 1 hour. Past it's prime.. cork was brittle dry.
