A real surprise. If I blind tasted this wine I would think its no more than 3 or 4 years old. Tasted so young. Bright color, tannic and acidic and plenty of alcohol. This wine needs time. I would say a minimum of 5 to 7 years.

Valentine's Day Dinner Party Celebration (La Jolla, California): From a bottle purchased upon release and cellared in pristine fashion, this fully mature wine remains beautifully balanced. Deep garnet in color, it offers black cherry, spice, sage and tobacco aromas. The flavors are comparable on the medium-bodied palate. Round, seamlessly alcoholic (13.5%) and with soft residual tannins, it has good mid-palate density and closes with a polished, medium length finish. Well-cellared bottles should hold up through the rest of this decade. Drink now-2020.

From a bottle purchased upon release and cellared in pristine fashion, this 16-year-old Bordeaux is fully mature and beautifully balanced. Deep garnet in color, it offers black cherry, coriander, sage and earth aromas, followed by similar flavors in a medium-bodied frame. The wine's low-to-medium acidity is complemented by its soft residual tannins and seamless alcohol (listed as 13.5%). Black fruit builds on the middle palate and the supple finish is medium in length. There are simply no rough edges on this wine. Well-cellared bottles should stay on plateau for at least another 3-4 years. Drink now-2019.
