Wines At Our Table; Week of February 22, 2015; 2/16/2015-2/22/2015: Bright pale yellow color with promising lime, melon honeysuckle, and spice aromas. On the palate medium-full bodied, and dense with lively acidity and a supple texture and pear, melon, lime cream flavors and a bit of minerality. Long finish. Blend of 53% 120-yr-old Semillon from Monte Rosso Vineyard, and 47% Sauvginon Blanc Musque clone from Kick Ranch; No MLF on the Sauv Blanc; fermented in 85% new French oak barrels from Bordeaux. 14.4% alcohol
Light yellow to yellow color in the glass, clear looking throughout. Off nose when coaxed gives way to light aromas of citrus/mandarin/grapefruit. Subdued flavors of apricot, kumquat and orange peel. Medium acidity, medium body. Drink or hold. Withholding any kind of a rating this bottle seemed a little off to me.
