The push towards elegant/light wines - The start of a new direction in our wine journey? (Amara Sanctuary Resort): Tasted blind. Wonderful aromatic nose of sweet scented wood. On the palate, lots of red cherries, cranberries and raspberries. Rounded mouth-feel with some soft supple tannins towards the refreshing medium finish. Fruit-forward and hiding nothing. Lack of complexity made me guess New World Pinot Noir. Really liked the nose of this, hence the points.

Fruity dense marlborough Pinot, cherry and raspberry aromas
Smell has that earthiness of a traditional pinot. Strawberry jam notes. Pleasant and enjoy able. Solid double yum
Light to medium body. Very cherry nose. Cherry, Cranberry, linzer tart flavor. Nice drinking wine, but simple and a bit monolithic.
Clean, fresh NZ fruit. With some structure and darkness. Clean, well made, if pretty straight ahead. At $24 it works it out.
