  • This wine is again from my 'Lost Cellar' and showed a dark color with some edge bricking. The nose was very forthcoming with blackcurrant, violets and cedar in a classically Margaux package. The palate had a rich ball of expressive fruit giving way to tertiary features of cocoa and cedar that persist nicely around a soft background of mature tannin. This is a lovely bottle that has opened with maturity in true Margaux fashion.

  • This wine from the 'Lost Cellar' showed a dark color with some edge bricking. The nose and palate were initially quite burly and closed but with double decanting and some hours standing in the cellar it developed a beautiful nose of blackcurrant, lavender and cocoa, earth and cedar that was classically Margaux. The palate was quite intense with deeply flavoured black fruits with a fine tannic structure leaving the impression of a mature wine of balance and maturity that belied its classification. Lg-Z has been a favourite over many years and it was sad to see it absorbed into what is IMHO an inferior wine.

  • Another undocumented find deep in the cellar ! Dark color with some bricking. Lovely nose of violet, blackcurrant, cedar, earth and dark chocolate. The palate is more earthy yet with a mature and refined finish that really satisfied with dinner. Clearly Margaux but clearly a very good 'bourgeois'.

  • Pretty with tobacco and cedar, elegant for bdx and much better than the bottle i had 5 years ago.

  • Lots of nail polish on the nose, not much fruit left. The flaws of this wine made it very difficult to enjoy its qualities. avoid
