  • Needs some decanting. In the beginning a little bitterness and harshness. With some air it develops into a more smoother wine. Nice but not as good as the 2010 vintage.

  • Vinturied into a decanter and let sit for 90 mins. Dark-medium garnet/rust in colour; nose of jammy black and red cherries, pomegranates, black berry liquor, and some green herbs, also a hint of liquid smoke. Has a nice elegant entry on the palate; dark dried red fruits, dark tobacco, and black licorice are detected. Finish is medium and is medium bodied; tannins still need to resolve a bit more.

  • Thought this was wonderful. Baking spices and dark red fruits all nicely balanced. Delicious with food and on it's own.

  • Medium to full bodied. P&P full of fruit. Backberries, blueberries, spicey garrique. During the evening the will develops from fruit to more garrique based wine. Not the feminin way I thought. Great Gigondas.
