  The quality of this Pinot from Carneros surprised us. I had to double check the bottle to see if it was really a Carneros wine. I would put this up against some fine Russian River Pinots. Obviously its time in the cellar has done it well. While fruit was still present, raspberry and bing cherry, it was far from a fruit bomb. Nice structure, round and balanced, it had a great long finish. This wine is drinking wonderfully right now so it would be a great time to start drinking! It might still continue to improve somewhat but I wouldn't bet that you would really see much more improvement.

  Decanted about 2 hours and this Pinot opened up nicely. Light red fruits of cherry and raspberry with a hint of oak and vanilla. Lightly spiced. I think this one is ready to go and a good value at its price.

  Bright flavors, red fruit. On day two, a little darker and more brooding, with more smokiness. This would benefit from a year or two in bottle to allow the secondary flavors to integrate and come forward.

  Fine pinot with a loud and bright cherry forward and a mild finish. Great to drink by itself given the subtle bright flavors.
