From 750ml bottle with some overfill seepage. Stellar. Rich nose… floral with honey and spice. Red and tropical fruit with cinnamon on the palate with a beam of acid that carries into the finish where layers of mineral unfurl. Finish was quiet at first but gained traction as the wine opened up. Finish builds on the palate as you drink it to the point that it doesn't want to end. Has viscosity of a dessert wine, but the sweetness is tempered and it's eminently drinkable. Rheingau power and elegance. Entering its prime now but the petrol is still so much in the background that I believe it will last much longer.

Swirling it around the glass immediately warns you of the incredible viscosity. The nose is sensationally floral but also displays notes of dried apricot, peaches, honeysuckle, petrol and creme caramel. All these confectionary notes are balanced by tremendous acidity.

This is likely past it's prime, but it was very interesting to see the colour change in the Reisling, amber, almost to the point you'd think it was a rose. The acidy was still there, as I would expect, and the nose still contained the signature floral notes, but there was definately some oxidation happening on the pallet.
