  • After the barnyard funk blew off, the wine was a light berry fruited/bitter finish wine that I probably should have opened a few years back. It was well preserved but nothing special at this point in its existence.

  • Burnt raquetball on the nose and palette and packing some funk -- not the most pleasant bottle unless you are into that kind of thing...

  • Strawberries on the nose followed by Cranberries on the palate. Paired extremely well with the roast chicken and cranberry relish accompaniment. Just spot on. Delightful, smooth, balanced, decent finish.

Another Rosenthal mystery wine. All the back label says is how great Rosenthal is. Nothing about the wine or producer at all. I happen to know Jura wines (thanks to Rosenthal ironically) and this is middle of the pack, good solid drinkable red Trousseau. Nicely done.

  • Liked this a lot. No contemporaneous notes...the nose was typical for me of the Jura with high toned delicate fruit. On the palate some light tannin initially that dissipated, then refreshing acidity, minerality and fruit flavors perhaps darker than the pomegranate I often get from Poulsard and Jura pinot. Really nice.
    My discrete CT scale: 95-extraordinary; 90-very good; 85-good; 80-fair; 75-poor
