shared with pat at selkirk manor. i continue to prune the cellar of bottles with past due drink by dates. last tasted on 2/20/2021. a year later, notes remain essentially the same although the wine is starting to show its age. dark color. but with slight browning. the wine remains big, bold, full. lots of cherry, coffee and spice. at this point, i would have to say that anyone holding this wine should think about drinking soon. great wine from Teramo. need to look for more recent vintages.

shared with pat at selkirk manor. i continue to prune the cellar of bottles with expired drink by dates. fear of having kept too long proved to be unfounded. last tasted on 5/20/2020. nine months later, notes remain the same. dark color. no fading or browning. big, bold, full. lots of cherry, coffee and spice. considering the slow rate of development i agree with galloni that it can easily go until 2022. i have one left. based on today's showing, i will save the last bottle for another year for further study to see just how far it can go. great wine from Teramo.

Still quite dark in color. Bitter cherry and balsamic giving way to earthy spicy notes. A little astringent but not unpleasant in any way. Paired well with a spicy meat dish.
Lasted tasted in March 2019 - tasting notes near identical. Continues to hold up well.
Gambero Rosso Tre Bicchieri back in 2010.

Really nice aromatics on the nose with notes of cherry and spice, earth and leather. Still quite dark in color after 13 years. On the palate its smooth, balanced, with a little astringency on the finish. Very nice and better than my last bottle tasted 16 months earlier.
While it improves with a good airing out, it still screams "Campesino" but in a more gentle voice.
At $13 a bottle in my region, worth buying more.
