Community Tasting History

Community Tasting Notes (average 85.9 pts. and median of 87 pts. in 14 notes)

Tasted by ruscabfan on 2/8/2009 & rated 73 points: metallic taste, better after a while...didn't enjoy. (234 views)
Tasted by WNissen on 7/13/2008: Fine red fruit, well-balanced from top to bottom, including moderate fine grain tannnins. Perhaps not entirely mature, but the 1999 I tried a couple years ago was dead, so I wouldn't take the risk of keeping it longer. Very Good+. (306 views)
Tasted by WNissen on 7/13/2008 flawed bottle: Holy god, this one was so badly corked you could smell it even when the cork was put back in. (304 views)
Tasted by stercomm on 3/9/2008 & rated 87 points: On the nose a bit of barnyard and dark berries, a somewhat light garnett color. On the palate I get cherries with a bit of pickled red beets, very dry finish, tannins are minimal. A nice QPR (649 views)
Tasted by dhonig on 3/10/2007 & rated 87 points: Vines, brambles, and terroir, a long dry finish, with hints of chocolate and dark berries from the nose to the last lingering afterthought. A good wine for a good price. (973 views)
Tasted by cobystilp on 3/8/2007 & rated 87 points: Nose is of earthy spice and wet livestock. You get a bit of a frizante on the initial draw. Its very bright with the acidity hitting your pallete. It tastes of red earth like Brownwood beets and spicy cherries. Nice round finish. I bought this a while back and I don't sense it is going to be falling apart anytime soon. I think I will hold onto my last bottle until next year.

FRANCE RHONE Pretty, sweet, smooth, polished berry fruit of Gard. Superb peppery, meaty aromas./ Yes, no heat and rusticity here. Creamy, with excellent structure. Deep, and richly textured. A cool Gard customer with great acidity. 92/100. (1070 views)
Tasted by thebonnydooner on 1/20/2007 & rated 86 points: Very smooth and easy to drink - not a tonne of complexity but nice. (1126 views)
Tasted by nob8dnkr on 10/20/2006 & rated 85 points: good stuff. (1234 views)
Tasted by olivethegreat on 9/25/2006 & rated 88 points: Nice everyday wine. Smoky at first, best to let it open just a small while and then have with some food. Nice berry fruit, not overly tannic. (1313 views)
Tasted by nob8dnkr on 7/17/2006 & rated 87 points: good wine for 10 dollars and worth every penny. (1337 views)
Tasted by Anonymous on 6/6/2006: On the nose, raisiny, with black cherry liquor. In the mouth, again, raisiny and a bit hot. (1332 views)
Tasted by slaton on 5/30/2006 & rated 87 points: Shy nose, medium body, but rich-feeling and smooth on the palate with plenty of soft, round tannins. Subtle red fruits and spices. Nothing profound, but quite pleasing for the price. (1487 views)
Tasted by KevinP on 3/4/2006 & rated 90 points: A pleasure! Brambly, spicy, earthy - everything that I want from a cheap rhone... (1487 views)
Tasted by J-Sho on 9/12/2005 & rated 88 points: Very good considering the price. Berries on the nose with a hint of earthiness. Medium to light in body with a smooth finish. Recommend buying a few of these. (1616 views)
