After reading tasting notes I was concerned about bottle variation, particularly so discovering seepage along full length of the cork when opened. Decanted four hours prior to first pour. No need to have worried, utterly glorious. Disappeared well before dinner where intended to accompany braised rabbit. Thanks, Papa!
Out of the bottle, very concentrated with a monolithic core of dark fruit. Double decanted for 5 hours, much more open now, showing some red fruit elements, a surprisingly elegant and balanced palate, notes of black currant and chocolate. For the weight and body, this is surprisingly light on its feet. Consistent with the last bottle, a month ago, drinking wonderfully.
Decanted about an hour. Big nose. Big flavors. Needed prob 2+ hours to get to that wonderful SQN place but once it got there just fantastic notes of red fruit and maple. Dark wine - not fading at all. 94 tonight....
