deep golden color, herbs and lemon soapy aromas arise from the glass, sturdy acidity, nuts, lemon zest and wax nuances cover the palate with a blanket of complexity, the finish holds on for a while, this is a great balance between complex flavor and fresh, refreshing qualities, I believe there is still life ahead as well

The herbiness of the Savagnin shows up on the nose with a sharp hint of spearmint late in the game. Strong notes of almonds and some peanut with a presence of old wood. Sharpness tartness on the back end with ample acidity but the fruit still seems to wallow on the palate. I suppose that might be the vintage. This has a hard time coming into focus for me. I like it for its complexities but hope to sample other vintages from this producer.

(Jacques Puffeney Savagnin Arbois) Light medium yellow color; oxidized, sherry-like, almond, peanut sauce, sesame seed nose; tasty, oxidative, minerally, very tart lemon palate; long finish (has grown and blossomed since last tasted--finish is longer too)

Yum. Surprisingly creamy, nutty notes. Perfect with alpine style cheeses. Not as long and deep as previous bottles.
